Arts & Music
Inspiriing creativity through Arts and Music children explore global cultures and express themselves through vibrant art, music, and performance.

Arts
The Arts are an essential and inspiring part of our learners’ educational journey. Through Visual Arts, Music, Drama, and Dance, students are encouraged to express themselves creatively, explore cultural diversity, and develop critical thinking skills.
Our Arts curriculum is embedded within the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) framework, ensuring that artistic learning is meaningful, thematic, and globally minded. The IPC’s focus on internationalism, personal learning goals, and cross-curricular connections aligns perfectly with our vision of holistic education.
The Arts are taught across all phases of learning; Early Years, Milepost, and Middle Years with the support of specialist Arts teachers who bring expertise, passion, and a deep understanding of creative development at each stage.
To deepen this experience, we offer a variety of Arts-focused after-school clubs. These clubs allow students to explore their interests further whether it’s painting, choir, drumming, dance, or drama—while working with peers on exciting projects and performances. The clubs help foster creativity, teamwork, and a lasting love for the Arts beyond the regular school day.

Music
Through singing, instrument playing, rhythm, and creative expression, we help children develop musical skills while building confidence, focus, and a love for performance starting from the Early Years and continuing through the primary and middle years. Our music programme, guided by a specialist music teacher and integrated with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), supports students as they grow in skill, creativity, and confidence.
In the Early Years, children explore music through singing, movement, rhythm, and creative play, helping to build listening skills, coordination, and self-expression. As they progress through the school, students begin to: Learn musical notation and develop vocal technique, play a range of classroom instruments, Understand rhythm, pitch, and musical structure, participate in performances and musical assemblies, explore music from different cultures and traditions.
Throughout their journey, children are encouraged to develop at their own pace, with regular opportunities to build on previous learning. From their first song to their first performance, every child is supported in their musical advancement.
For those with a special interest in music, our after-school music club offers a chance to go further—deepening skills, exploring instruments, and preparing for performances in a fun and supportive environment.
R-Factor
The R-Factor Annual Music Talent Show is one of the most anticipated events in the Rumukoroshe School calendar, celebrating the vibrant creativity and musical talent of our students. Each year, the show brings together young performers from across the school community, offering them a platform to showcase their skills, build confidence, and inspire others through the power of music.
From soulful soloists and energetic group acts to instrumental performances and original compositions, R-Factor reflects the spirit of artistic excellence and joyful expression that defines Rumukoroshe School.
